Unarmed Stage Combat Course

Ever needed to slap someone on stage? Come learn the proper techniques to perform unarmed theatrical violence safely, and how to look good doing it. This workshop offers participants an introduction into unarmed stage combat. Participants will learn basic slaps, punches, falls, chokes and more. No previous stage combat experience is required to take the class.
The instructor for this class will be Claire Yearman. Claire is a teacher, actor, and fight choreographer. She has choreographed for many local theaters and colleges, including Interrobang Theatre Project, Piccolo Theatre, Red Tape Theatre, Metropolis Performing Arts, Wheaton Drama, Dominican University, Harper College, and Elgin Community College. She received a Joseph Jefferson nomination for her fight choreography for Red Tape Theatre’s The Love of the Nightingale. Claire has an MFA in Acting from Western Illinois University, is an adjunct theatre professor at College of Dupage and is a member of The Society of American Fight Directors. She has taught stage combat classes around Chicagoland and at stage combat regional workshop around the United States.
