“Into The Woods” Cast Announced

Wheaton Drama is pleased to announce the cast list for Into The Woods (performed May 17 – June 9, 2013).

To quote director Craig Gustafson: “Thank you so much to all of the 138 people who auditioned for Into the Woods. Those of you at the callbacks realize how tough the decisions were. We could have cast the show three more times and had a winner every time. Here is the cast:”

Performances of Into the Woods are May 17 through June 9, 2013. Shows are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $21 each, except Thursdays, which have a special price of $18 per ticket. Into the Woods is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Also playing in WDI’s current season is Full Circle (through April 7; no show Easter Sunday). The 2013-2014 season includes Lend Me a Tenor, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, And Then There Were None (Ten Little Indians), Steel Magnolias, and The Music Man. Additional shows include Romeo & Juliet (2013 Summer Studio Show), a musical cabaret (2013 Summer Fundraiser), and It’s A Wonderful Life – Radio Show (2013 Holiday Fundraiser).

Cast List for “Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure”

Wheaton Drama, Inc (WDI) has cast the Steven Dietz adaptation of Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure.

The cast is: Edward Barnett as Norton/Larrabee; Roy Birch as Sid Prince; Pat Daly as Policeman/Clergyman; Deven Ferber as Sherlock Holmes; Amy Johnson as Post Boy/Swiss Boy; Harold LeBoyer as Dr. Watson; Larry Mayo as Professor Moriarty; Karen Neidlinger as Madge Larrabee; Tom Viskocil as King of Bohemia; Sharon Voss as Irene Adler.

Annie Walker-Bright is directing, assisted by Dee Hicks. The production manager is Steve Blount. Amy Johnson is the stage manager.

Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure is set in Victorian England in a tidy flat at 221B Baker Street, and other locations. You don’t have to be a scholar of detective stories to enjoy the script Steven Dietz has crafted—there is enough intrigue and adventure, even a touch of romance with the inclusion of Holmes’ intellectual equal, Irene Adler.

Performances are January 25, 2013 through February 17, 2013. Shows are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $13 for Thursdays; $16 for Fridays-Sundays. Dramatists Play Service licenses Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure.

Wheaton Drama Casts The Sound of Music

Wheaton Drama, Inc. (WDI) has cast its 2012 fall family musical, The Sound of Music. This Rodgers and Hammerstein classic will be performed from November 9 to December 9 at Playhouse 111, 111 N. Hale Street in downtown Wheaton, IL.

James A. Liesz is directing, assisted by Susan Carr. Joni Kotche is the musical director. Choreography is by Barbara Giblin. Rebecca Poole and Amy Johnson are the production managers. Stage management is by Bruce Ebner and Debbie Trueblood.

The show is licensed by R&H Theatricals. Performances are at 8pm Thursdays-Saturdays; 3pm Sundays. Tickets are $18 for Thursdays; $21 Fridays-Sundays. No show Thanksgiving Day.
